    Prescription orders require special handling and customization. These orders are processed at our manufacturing facility in Utah and may take up to one month to be fulfilled. Once processed, they are shipped via 2-Day Express shipping.

    Our Distribution Center strives to process and ship orders for in-stock merchandise within 1-2 business days. Orders placed on weekends or holidays will be processed the following business day.

    Transit Times

    Transit time for shipping is measured in business days, which exclude holidays:

    • UPS Standard Ground Shipping: 3 - 5 business days*
    • UPS Expedited Shipping: 2 - 3 business days*
    • APO/FPO Shipping via USPS: 5 - 10 business days*

    * Shipping to Alaska & Hawaii may have longer transit times.

    For I/O MAG Imprint 3D orders, you will receive an email with instructions after purchase to complete your order. Printing, assembly, and shipping typically take approximately 14 business days.

    We offer free standard shipping within the continental US for full price orders of $50 or more (pre-tax). For Canadian orders, free shipping is available for full price orders of $200 or more. Standard ground shipping is $30.00 for Canada. Please note that free shipping is not available for Pro Program member orders.

    How to Locate a Missing Package

    1. Check Around Your Location

      • Look around your house or apartment complex to ensure the package wasn't misdelivered.
      • Consult with roommates or housemates to inquire if they received the package on your behalf.

    2. Review UPS Tracking

      • Visit the UPS tracking page to check for a delivery photo or signature confirmation.
      • Sometimes packages are marked as delivered before actually being delivered. Allow up to 48 hours for the carrier to complete delivery.

    3. Track Your Package

      • Access detailed carrier, status, and tracking information on your My Account page.
      • The carrier's tracking page may provide additional specifics on the package's exact delivery location.

    Reporting a Missing Package

    If your package is missing for more than 72 hours after being marked as "delivered" and you have thoroughly checked your surroundings, please initiate a claim here.

    Eligibility and Conditions

    Full-Price Online Orders:

    • We accept returns for products purchased from smithoptics.com within 30 days of the purchase date.
    • Products must be unused and in their original packaging.
    • Both full-price and sales items are eligible for returns and will be refunded to the original form of payment.

    Exclusions:

    • Orders placed through our Pro Program or other industry partners are not eligible for returns, exchanges, or credits.

    How to Make a Return

    To initiate a return, follow these steps:

    1. Requirements:

      • You will need your order number (excluding the -01), email address, and billing zip code.

    2. Return Label Fee:

      • A $10 return fee for the printable return shipping label will be deducted from your refund (US only).

    3. Canadian Returns:

      • Canadian customers must pay for return shipping to our warehouse in Montreal.
      • We recommend retaining tracking information.
      • Refunds may take up to two weeks after the return is received by our warehouse.

    4. Refund Process:

      • Your refund, minus the $10 return label fee, will be processed to your original payment method within three to five business days after we receive your return.
      • Refunds may take up to 30 days to appear on your credit card statement.

    Pro Returns and Final Sale Items

    Pro Program Purchases:

  • How to Make a Return

    To make a return, you will need your order number (leaving off the -01), email address, and billing zip code to start the online return process. We charge a $10 return fee for the printable return shipping label. The cost of the return label will be subtracted from your refund.

     

    At this time, we do not offer return labels through our Canadian shipping partners. The cost of the return will be fronted by you. You are free to choose any courier service through which to ship your return. 

     

    The purchase will be refunded, minus the $10 return label fee, to your original form of payment within three to five business days after we receive your return. Refunds may take up to 30 days to be visible on your credit card statement.

    Warranty Policy

    Smith Sport Optics Inc. (“Smith”) is committed to quality, and we have built our reputation on long-lasting, high-performing products.

     

    LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY:

     

    All Smith sunglasses and goggles (including custom goggles) are covered for the lifetime of the product to be free from manufacturer's defects under the terms and conditions of this policy.

     

    STANDARD LIMITED WARRANTY: 

    All Smith helmets are covered for the duration of three years from the date of purchase against any manufacturer’s defects under the terms and conditions of this policy.

    Smith prescription eyewear is warranted to the original purchaser for two years from the date of purchase against any manufacturing defects. The prescription product must have been purchased off of the SMITH Optics website. If you believe your prescription product is defective, and you have purchased from a local shop, please contact that shop to see your warranty options. We'll repair or replace, at our discretion, any pair of Smith Prescription Eyewear found to be defective, exclusive of damage caused by improper or unreasonable use.

     

    APPAREL AND ACCESSORIES:

    All Smith apparel and accessories are covered for the duration of one year from the date of purchase against any manufacturer’s defects under the terms and conditions of this policy, unless otherwise stated in any mandatory applicable law.

     

    Terms & Conditions of Warranty:

    Smith has sole discretion to determine what qualifies as a manufacturer's defect, and only authentic products purchased from an authorized Smith dealer or from the Smith website are covered by our limited lifetime warranty or standard limited warranty (as applicable). If a product is found defective by Smith, unless otherwise provided by the applicable law, Smith has sole discretion to determine whether to (i) replace (ii) repair (iii) provide a coupon*or (iv) provide a refund for the product**. If your warranty claim is approved, you will be responsible for the cost of shipping and taxes of the replacement product.

    *Any coupon provided by Smith for your approved warranty claim must be redeemed 90 days from the issuance. After the expiration of the 90 days term, the warranty claim and coupon will lapse. 

    ** Only applies to products purchased via www.smithoptics.com

    The warranty program does not include a product that is lost, stolen, dropped, sat on, stepped on, run over, shattered, chewed by your pet, or any other damage that is caused by misuse, abuse, or negligence; with specific reference to apparel, the warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, normal wear and tear, or the natural breakdown of colors and material through time, exposure or extensive use.

    Please be advised that the Smith warranty is for authentic Smith products including authentic Smith lenses, frames, and parts without modification of any sort. Any alteration to lenses, frame parts, or nose pads voids all warranties.

    For in-store purchases, please contact your local Smith retailer. These partners can be found by using our FIND A STORE link in the top right-hand corner of your country site.

     

    How it Works

    Warranty activation: To start a warranty claim, which can only be done on our site, head over to the  Smith Warranty Claim Form. The warranty process normally takes 1–2 weeks. To help make the warranty process go smoothly, you'll need the following:

    1. Product name and model;
    2. A valid proof of purchase;
    3. The product SKU or UPC number. These identify the specific model, colorway, and size. They can be found on the original packaging or on the product page at  www.smithoptics.com
    4. Photos that clearly show the problem with your product. Check our  Warranty Claim Photos for examples.

    If your warranty claim is approved, you will be provided a warranty voucher good for use on one comparable product from the same category. You will be responsible for the cost of shipping and taxes of the replacement order.

    Purchases made with a warranty voucher are not eligible for return or exchange. Please consider your purchase carefully. Our team of product experts will happily provide answers to help guide your decision.

     

    Replacement Policy

    If your problem does not fall under our warranty policy, Smith may (at our discretion) be able to replace frames, lenses, and other parts for interchangeable models for a fee at our discretion. Scratched or otherwise abused lenses and fixed lenses are not eligible for replacement. For more information, submit a request using the Contact Us form. All fees for replacement depend on the model and parts required.

     

    Helmet Crash Replacement Policy

    Accidents happen, and you should not use a helmet that has been involved in a crash. Smith offers 30% off MSRP for crash replacement helmets.

    Minimum requirements to qualify for our crash replacement discount

    1. Damage must be from an activity related crash or impact.

    2. Crash replacement request is within two years of original purchase date with proof of purchase.

    3. You are able to present your crashed helmet and details of the incident that caused the damage.

    4. You are the original owner of the helmet.

    5. Cases of helmet abuse are not eligible for replacement.

    Helmet replacements are limited to 1 unit per year. Use the Contact Us form to initiate a helmet crash replacement.

     

    Limitations on Warranty and Damages

    EXCEPT FOR THE EXPRESS WARRANTIES SET FORTH IN THIS POLICY AND TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY THE APPLICABLE LAW, SMITH MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS AND GRANT NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, EITHER IN FACT OR BY OPERATION OF LAW, BY STATUTE OR OTHERWISE, AND SMITH SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER WRITTEN OR ORAL, OR EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF QUALITY, MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR USE OR PURPOSE OR ANY WARRANTY AS TO THE VALIDITY OF ANY PATENTS OR THE NON-INFRINGEMENT OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF THIRD PARTIES.

    To the extent permitted by the applicable law, any warranty not expressly regulated in this policy (including any implied warranty) shall be considered as excluded. In case of breach of any warranty on this product, the consumer is limited to damages of repair of the product, replacement with an identical or equivalent style, coupon redemption, or refund at the election of Smith. Unless otherwise provided by the applicable mandatory law, Smith is NOT liable for any other damages, such as special, incidental, or consequential damages, resulting from the use of this product. 

     

    This warranty extends to residents of the United States and Canada only.

    Installation Steps

    To install your leash, follow these steps:

    1. Remove Current Temple Pads:

      • Push on the pads and pull them out.
      • Keep the original temple pads for future use.

    2. Install the Leash:

      • Start at the outside of the temple arm.
      • Line up the leash pad in the same direction as the opening.
      • Slide the tip of the leash pad into the temple first.
      • Push the remaining pad into place.

  • How do I order prescription glasses from Smith?

    To order Smith prescription glasses, you will need your current lens prescription including your PD measurement (pupillary distance).

    Then, ordering is easy. Just choose your frame, select your lens options, and select "Add your prescription." Enter your prescription details in the Rx Wizard, then add to cart and checkout.

  • Tips for understanding and reading your prescription.

    Single Vision

    • Prescription Format:

      • Typically presented in a grid format with fields like OD, OS, SPH, CYL, etc.
      • Values may be entered digitally or handwritten by the doctor.

    • SPH and CYL:

      • Sphere (SPH): Indicates lens power for nearsightedness (-) or farsightedness (+).
      • Cylinder (CYL): Corrects astigmatism, with a (+) or (-) sign.

    • PD (Pupillary Distance):

      • Measured in millimeters (mm).
      • Can be a single number (e.g., 64) or two numbers (e.g., 31/33).
      • Important for aligning lenses correctly in front of each eye.

    Progressive Lenses

    • ADD (Addition):
      • Applies magnifying power for near vision.
      • Always noted with a (+) sign.
      • Designations like DV (Distance Vision) and NV (Near Vision) may be specified.

    Understanding Specific Entries

    • PLANO/PL under SPH:

      • Indicates no correction needed for nearsighted or farsighted vision.
      • Enter 0.00 in the SPH section of the Rx wizard.

    • SPHERE/SPH/S/DS under CYL:

      • Indicates no correction needed for astigmatism.
      • Enter 0.00 in the CYL section of the Rx wizard.

    • Multiple ADD Values:

      • If your prescription lists multiple ADD values, enter the one with PAL (Progressive Add Lens) into the ADD section of the wizard.

    OD and OS

    • OD (Oculus Dexter) and OS (Oculus Sinister):
      • Latin terms for right eye (OD) and left eye (OS).
      • Also seen as O.D. and O.S. respectively.
      • OU may reference both eyes, and RE and LE may also be used.

    Additional Details

    • Ax (Axis):

      • Specifies the angle for astigmatism correction (1 to 180 degrees).
      • Always accompanies CYL if listed in the prescription.

    • Prism:

      • Corrects double vision or vision displacement.
      • Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate prescriptions requiring Prism correction.

    • Measuring PD (Pupillary Distance):

      • Measures the distance between your pupils.
      • Obtain the most accurate PD by visiting your doctor or using tools like AccuPD.
      • Two-number PD (e.g., 31/33) is preferable for custom-made eyewear.

  • How to measure your pupillary distance (PD).

    What is Pupillary Distance?

    Pupillary distance measures the distance between your pupils. It's a crucial measurement for ensuring that your eyewear is properly aligned to your eyes.

    If it's not included in your prescription, you can visit AccuPD, a free tool that measures your PD.

    However, to obtain the most accurate PD reading, a Call or Visit to your Dr. would be advised.

    If you prefer, you can also measure your PD yourself following the steps below with a ruler and mirror. It's important to measure from the center of one pupil to the center of the other.

    1. Stand 8-12 inches away from a mirror.
    2. Hold a ruler against your brow or cheekbones.
    3. Close your right eye and align the ruler end with the center of your left pupil.
    4. Look straight ahead, close your left eye, and open your right eye. Note the measurement to the center of your right pupil.

    • PD is measured in mm and can be one number like 64 or two numbers like 31/33.
    • The first number in a two number PD is the Right or OD.
    • Getting the two-number PD is always the best choice when creating custom-made eyewear as it centers each Rx in front of each eye, versus the less accurate method of dividing the single number by two.

  • How long does it take to receive my Smith Prescription order?

    Once you've placed your prescription order, it can take up to 30 days to receive. Upon completion and quality inspection, we ship and deliver as quickly as possible. You will receive a shipping confirmation email when your order leaves our lab.

  • Can I email or fax my prescription later?

     

    No, we do not require a physical copy of the Rx to be uploaded or shared.

    All Smith prescription orders must be submitted into the Rx Wizard on the website with a valid Rx prescribed by an eye doctor.

  • What makes the Smith Imprint 3D goggles unique?

    Smith Imprint 3D goggles are the first custom goggles built to the individualized features of a person’s face. Utilizing Smith’s custom app - available for download on compatible iPhone 10 or newer, users scan their face to capture their unique details. Through Smith’s patent-pending Imprint 3D Technology, an individualized goggle frame is generated with a face flange that is tailored to the exact contours of the user’s face. The customized frame is 3D printed, then hand assembled in Smith’s USA-based production facility and delivered within 14 business days.

  • How does this fit differently than a standard I/O MAG, Squad XL or Squad goggle?

    In a traditional goggle, 12-15mm of face foam does most of the work establishing fit by adjusting between the frame and the contours of your face. With Imprint 3D goggles, the frame itself is tailored to your face. This in combination with a much thinner foam, acts to reduce pressure points, as well as light and air leaks, while allowing for lower strap tension. Imprint 3D models have the same overall dimensions as their standard companions – wearers with small or large faces may have an improved fit in S or XL models.

    If you have a generally larger face the I/O MAG Imprint 3D may not be an optimal lens size for you. If you are happy with the overall size of a standard I/O MAG goggle, then the I/O MAG Imprint 3D could potentially fit even better.

    You can add a personalized message (up to 550 character max) to any Gift Card purchase on smithoptics.com.

     

    I bought a product with a Gift Card, how do I make a return?

    If you wish to return your products purchased by using a Gift Card, please visit the Smith Return Portal (https://returns.narvar.com/smithoptics/returns) and submit a request. Any amount used from the Gift Card for the purchase will result in a refund to a newly issued Gift Card. The new Gift Card details will be emailed to you following the return of your order.

     

    Can I purchase a Gift Card with a Gift Card?

    No, you cannot purchase a Gift Card with another Gift card.

     

    When will the Gift Card arrive with the receiver?

    Gift Cards will be sent by email about 1 hour after purchase. Recipient should check Junk or Spam folders.

     

    Can I have a Gift Card mailed?

    No, we do not support physical mailing of Gift cards.

     

    Where can a Gift Card be used?

    The Gift Card can be redeemed online towards the purchase of Smith products on smithoptics.com in the US.

     

    How do I use a Gift Card?

    Select your Smith product/s of choice, then proceed to your Cart and click the Checkout button. After entering shipping details, you can then select the 'Gift Card' option in the Payment step. This will then be applied to your Order Summary and display the balance for your purchase. Note, there is a limit of three gift cards per order when checking out. Gift cards can be combined with the following payment methods: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and AfterPay, PayPal.

     

    Are Gift Cards redeemable for cash, or can I refund them?

    There are no returns or refunds on Gift Cards, nor can any balance on a Gift Card be redeemed for cash except as where required by law.

    How can I check the balance of my Gift Card

    Gift Card balances can be checked by applying the gift card to your cart at checkout or by contacting our team at support@smithoptics.zendesk.com. We reserve the right to correct the balance of your Gift Card if we believe that a clerical or accounting error has occurred.



    How will I know that my gift card has been delivered?

    You'll get a confirmation email up to an hour after placing your order and the recipient receives the Gift card email notification moments after. 

     

    What if I put in the wrong email address?

    The recipient email address can be updated only within the first hour the card is ordered. After that Smith cannot change or update your order and the balance cannot be transferred. You can contact us by emailing support@smithoptics.zendesk.com or Monday through Friday 8am-4pm (Pacific Time) at 888-206-2995.

    How fast will an email or text message gift card be delivered?

    Gift Cards are normally delivered within 60 minutes.

    Who is eligible for the Smith Pro Program?

    Our pro program is designed for outdoor industry professionals including guides and instructors, employees of outdoor gear companies, Smith retailer employees, athletes, first responders, and active military personnel. The program is always under review, and qualification is dependent on full-time employment within the listed industries and professions.

    Membership in our pro program is not guaranteed, regardless of past affiliations with Smith or other connections. We require that you upload proof of your qualifications, including valid guide licenses, membership cards, proof of employment, or similar. Pro program status is valid for one year, and requires annual recertification through a new application.

     

    How to Apply:
    All applicants must create a Smith customer account.

    These Terms are effective until terminated by Smith. Smith may terminate these Terms and some or all of the Site or any feature or portion thereof, without notice and at any time in connection with all or part of the Site.

     

    14.   DISPUTES

    Any dispute or claim relating in any way to your access and use of this Site, or to any products or services sold or distributed through this Site will be resolved by binding arbitration, rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if your claims qualify. The Federal Arbitration Act and federal arbitration law apply to this agreement.

    For all disputes whether pursued in small claims court or arbitration, you must first give us an opportunity to resolve your claim by sending a written description of your claim to Smith Optics Customer Service and to the Legal Department at 300 Lighting Way Suite 400 Secaucus, NJ  07094. We each agree to negotiate your claim in good faith. If we are unable to resolve the claim within 60 days after we receive this claim description, you may pursue your claim in arbitration (or in small claims court, if applicable). We each agree that if you fail to timely pay amounts due, we may assign your account for collection, and the collection agency may pursue through any lawful means, including in small claims court, claims limited strictly to the collection of the past due amounts and any interest or cost of collection permitted by law.

    Either you or we may start arbitration proceedings. You must send a letter requesting arbitration and describing your claim to our registered agent, Smith Optics Legal Department 300 Lighting Way Suite 400 Secaucus, NJ  07094. The arbitration will be conducted by a neutral arbitrator mutually agreeable to both of us. If we cannot agree on the selection of an arbitrator within 30 days of the date that the request for arbitration was received by Corporation Service Company, the Dispute will be arbitrated by JAMS arbitration services. Unless we agree to use a different set of rules, the arbitrator will use the applicable JAMS arbitration rules. The JAMS rules are available at www.jamsadr.com or by calling 1-800-352-JAMS.   

    Upon filing of the arbitration request, we will pay all filing, administration, and arbitrator fees for the arbitration proceeding. An arbitrator may award on an individual basis any relief that would be available in a court, including injunctive or declaratory relief and attorneys' fees. Payment of all filing, administration and arbitrator fees will be governed by the JAMS rules. We will reimburse those fees for claims totaling less than $10,000 unless the arbitrator determines the claims are frivolous. Likewise, we will not seek attorneys' fees and costs in arbitration unless the arbitrator determines the claims are frivolous. You may choose to have the arbitration conducted by telephone, based on written submissions, or in person in the county where you live or at another mutually agreed location

    WE EACH AGREE THAT ANY PROCEEDINGS, WHETHER IN ARBITRATION OR COURT, WILL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION OR AS A MEMBER IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. WE EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO PROSECUTE OR PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION, COLLECTIVE ACTION, OR OTHER REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. WE EACH MAY SEEK RELIEF ONLY ON BEHALF OF OURSELVES AND ONLY TO THE EXTENT NECESSARY TO REMEDY OUR INDIVIDUAL CLAIMS. THIS CLASS ACTION WAIVER IS A MATERIAL AND ESSENTIAL PART OF AND CANNOT BE SEVERED FROM THIS ARBITRATION PROVISION. THE REMAINING PORTIONS OF THIS ARBITRATION PROVISION ARE NOT ESSENTIAL PARTS OF THIS ARBITRATION PROVISION AND CAN BE SEVERED FROM IT BY A COURT OF COMPETENT JURISDICTION. IF A CLAIM

    OR ACTION PROCEEDS IN COURT RATHER THAN IN ARBITRATION, WE EACH WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL.  

     

    15.   GOVERNING LAW 

    Access to or use of the Site shall not be construed as Smith's purposeful availment of the privilege or benefits of doing business in any state or legal jurisdiction other than the State of New York. These Terms, and any claim or action arising out of or relating to these Terms, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the Federal Arbitration Act, applicable federal law, and the laws of the State of New York without regard to conflicts of law provisions. If any claim or action proceeds in court rather than through arbitration, sole and exclusive jurisdiction for any such claim or action shall be in the state courts of the State of New York for the County of New York and the federal courts for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

     

    MISCELLANEOUS

    These Terms constitute the entire, full and complete agreement between yourself and Smith with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersede all previous written or oral agreements between the parties with respect to such subject matter. You agree that Smith shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuance of the Site.  Each section, paragraph, part, term, and/or provision of these Terms shall be considered severable; and if, for any reason, any provision herein is determined to be invalid and contrary to, or in conflict with, any existing or future law or regulation by a court or agency having valid jurisdiction, such provision shall not impair the operation, or have any other effect upon, other provisions of these Terms as may remain otherwise intelligible, and the latter shall continue to be given full force and effect to bind you and Smith; and said invalid provisions shall be deemed not to be part of these Terms.  No waiver by Smith of any breach or default hereunder shall be deemed to be a waiver of any preceding or subsequent breach or default.  The waiver of any right or provision will be effective only if in writing and signed by a duly authorized representative of Smith. 

    We will not be liable or responsible to you, nor be deemed to have defaulted or breached these Terms, for any failure or delay in our performance under these Terms when and to the extent such failure or delay is caused by or results from acts or circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including, without limitation, acts of God, flood, fire, earthquake, explosion, governmental actions, war, invasion or hostilities (whether war is declared or not), terrorist threats or acts, riot or other civil unrest, national emergency, revolution, insurrection, epidemic, lockouts, strikes or other labor disputes (whether or not relating to our workforce), or restraints or delays affecting carriers or inability or delay in obtaining supplies of adequate or suitable materials, materials or telecommunication breakdown or power outage.
